Terms & Conditions of Membership

Last updated: 8 July 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern membership in the Africa Nephrology Nurses Association (AFNNA). By submitting an application or maintaining an active membership, you agree to be bound by the terms set out below.

1 Verification of Licensure

Full Members must hold and maintain an active, valid nursing licence for the duration of their membership. AFNNA reserves the right to request proof of licensure at any time and to suspend or revoke membership where a member's licence lapses, is suspended, or is revoked.

2 Application & Approval

Submitting an application does not guarantee membership. AFNNA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to approve or decline any application, and is not obligated to disclose the reasons for a decision.

3 Code of Conduct

Members are expected to conduct themselves professionally and ethically at all times, whether interacting in digital spaces (including the member portal, directory, and online events) or in person. Discriminatory, abusive, or harassing behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated.

Any member found to be in violation of this Code of Conduct may have their membership suspended or revoked, at AFNNA's discretion, without refund of fees paid.

4 Membership Fees & Billing

Membership is billed on an annual basis. Members will receive advance notice before each renewal charge is processed. Membership fees, once paid, are non-refundable under any circumstances, including early resignation or revocation for a Code of Conduct violation.

5 Use of the Member Directory

The member directory is provided as a networking and professional resource only. It must not be used to send unsolicited sales, marketing, or promotional communications to fellow members. AFNNA reserves the right to use the directory for its own promotional and organisational activities.

6 No Guarantee of Outcomes

Membership provides access to professional resources, continuing professional development (CPD), and networking opportunities. It does not guarantee employment, referrals, business, or any specific professional outcome.

7 Termination & Resignation

Members may voluntarily resign from the association by giving written notice to the Secretariat. AFNNA may likewise terminate a membership, with notice, where a member breaches these Terms & Conditions. Fees already paid are not refunded on termination or resignation.

Questions about these terms can be directed to the AFNNA Secretariat. Continued use of the member portal constitutes acceptance of any future updates to this agreement.
